Kozzika

Kozzika
Kozzika
Kotsika or Kuzika. One of the neighborhoods of Cairo, Egypt. It is located in the Tora region. The name goes back to Teochari Kotsika, who was the richest person in the Greek community in Egypt at the beginning of the twentieth century. His wealth was estimated at 4 million pounds. Kotsika established the first alcohol factory in Egypt in 1893, in the area that today bears his name near the Maadi neighborhood. Kotsika, or “Kozika” as the Egyptians call it, also participated in the establishment of the Egyptian Ambulance, where he donated the first ambulance in 1916.
